I want to take a moment to spotlight a new initiative by a friend and a creator Nobody whom inspires me a great deal.

The Choose Your Own Adventure genre of books is quite possibly the most important foundation of where all my interest in peril stems from. And while those books are long relics of the 1980's, there is still someone out there putting in the work to create new content in this genre. It's a lot of work, and likely why more people don't tackle it, and as more often is the case, complete the job.

This is the type of creative content that I want to support, and I hope that some of you will consider doing the same. In addition to the stories written by Nobody you will also get access to a limited series of exclusive renders done by me, that are inspired by their writings. I've been fortunate enough to grow a kind, accepting, and enthusiastic group of followers over the past few years, and I am very grateful for that. It's why I wanted to reach out to everyone and let you know, this is something I believe in, and hope that any of you who are interested or able to support, will consider as well. Thank you all for your time!

Now that I've rambled, I will let their own words of announcement do the talking. From a the recent journal of Nobody

...I've been writing fetish stories for a while now and if you're reading this you've probably enjoyed my writing at some point. I started by writing Choose Your Own Adventure stories featuring a character called Emily Lockwood, a schoolgirl detective whose investigations would constantly lead to her becoming a damsel in distress. These stories featured dozens of endings for the reader to explore as they chose what Emily does and where she goes, but because of that, they also took way too long to write.

It's been almost three years since I've posted a cyoa but beginning Saturday I will be posting a brand new one on Patreon every two months. Every single week I'll be posting stories featuring heroines or original characters in-between the cyoa releases. All of these stories feature a lot more mature themes than what I've been posting on here: bondage, hypnosis, chloroform, it’s all the same damsel in distress stuff I've written in the past, but taken way further, the bad guys taking advantage of their captives in ways that would probably get me kicked off of Deviantart.

The first choose your own adventure I'll be releasing starts a new series of perilous stories for Emily. It begins with her on vacation with her mom, the two of them soon catching the attention of an evil gang of people traffickers. The gang chases them across the world, trying to capture them everywhere they go. This adventure is absolutely huge, seven different countries to explore, over 100,000 words, over 60 unique ways for Emily and her mom to be captured, tied up, or knocked out together. You choose where they go in the world, and you choose how Emily tries to evade her captors. Make the wrong choice and you’ll see how they go from carefree tourists, to damsels in distress.

So if that sounds good, if you enjoy my writing, and if you have five dollars a month to spare, please do consider subscribing to my Patreon starting on Saturday. I would be extremely grateful, and I guarantee I am putting in a lot of effort to make these stories as good as they can be so you get your money’s worth. I will also be having polls that will determine what happens in Emily’s adventures and what stories I’ll be releasing next. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to write them below, drop me a note, or you can email me directly: markusj2020@aol.com

a new dawn

Five years ago, Torqual3D taught me how to use a DAZ Studio 3.1.2 and gave me the training to realize my own original character, Dawn Meadows, who up until that point had only existed in the form of commissioned illustrations for the better part of 10 years. And while I adored (and continue to adore) the magnificent collection of commissioned art, and the variety of iterations of Dawn Meadows that inspired, there was something special and exciting about being able to create my own vision. And for five years, I practiced with the software, created renders, learned how to post work an image, and many of you provided tireless, kind, and encouraging support all along the way. I now find myself with new hardware at my fingertips, and the inspiration to explore new options. I have made the jump to DAZ Studio 4, and once again find myself a novice, learning my way. Part of that process was the decision to start fresh, and create what you might call "Dawn 2.0" Now I know what you are thinking: "I liked the old Dawn!" and I do too. This is me trying to explore new things, inspire myself, and remain creatively energized as an artist. And don't worry, I still have plenty of backlog material that will be coming your way from DAZ Studio 3. I hope some of you can enjoy the look of Dawn 2.0 and will give me a shot in continuing to support me as I see where this new road takes me. Thanks for your time.

Spotlight by perilsofdawn

Happy New Year everyone. I hope things are going well. I thought I would take a moment to give the spotlight to another character in the Dawn Meadows universe. And this time around, it would be Hannah Hoxley. I know she has appeared previously in my work here, and for any of you who have followed my writings from YEARS ago, you are no doubt already familiar with her. But I figured for the sake of world building, she deserved her moment here in the studio. Miss Hoxley was a childhood friend of Dawn from their days at the Ivy Ridge Academy for Girls. Well, friend might not be the correct word. They might be something more of rivals, or "frenemies", or something all together more complicated. Hannah's father owns Hoxley Banking and as a result, Hannah is one of the wealthiest girls at the prestigious Academy for Girls. But it seems that pesky orphaned Meadows girl has her wealth annoyingly exceeded just a bit. Perhaps it's the common ground of excessive wealth in a place that is already known for deep pockets, but there is something isolating about being at the top. And that's where the bond began. Dawn is such a "do-gooder" and so kind, unlike so many of the other privileged girls at school. And even though Hannah ends up making everything about a rivalry (probably due to the business driven teachings from her strict father), the blue eyed brunette cannot help holding onto the tenuous thread of friendship between herself and the budding blonde reporter to be. They say it's lonely at the top, and even two girls who do not always see eye to eye, need a hand to hold when the going gets tough. Growing up has never been easy, and sometimes it's better to set aside your differences.

I'm pleased to announce my latest project.  And it signals the return of two of the most imperiled heroines in the industry! After the very generous and positive response I received from their first outing "To Catch a Sleuth" I always kept in the back of my mind the thought about bringing these two ladies back together for another misadventure.

Many of you on DeviantArt have given such a supportive reception to Dawn Meadows as my own original character, and I thank you for that. I too personally, have been so inspired by the immeasurable talents of :iconmarkusjo: 's original character, Emily Lockwood. It's no surprise that I would find inspiration would strike once again.

So I hope that some of you can be excited to learn that their latest adventure will begin next week. I have been hard at work on it for quite some time, and am now eager to share the work with the community. Stay tuned!

Intro1c Lev by perilsofdawn

Last winter, I tackled my first serious project in DAZ Studio, and many of you inquired what might happen next in the story. I have appreciated all the kindness and support the community has shown me as I found my way through the art of creation. I will be the first to admit that I honestly never know when inspiration is going to strike, and even more uncertain, is what form it will take. But as the snow drifts down around, and the cold makes the outside world feel forsaken, I found myself pondering... It's time to check in on a certain peril prone reporter, in a sequel that nobody was waiting for :P

Winter Cabin - Part II (Intro)

The trip down White Wolf Mountain's eastern side was unbearable. The tires of the jeep rumbled with grief on the uneven trail that was piled high with unforgiving driven snow. It was made more punishing by the lack of cab cover for the off road vehicle. The jackets and caps worn by the driver and his disgruntled passenger made things barely tolerable, while their cargo in the rear was forced to endure the journey in nothing more than the billowy thin sleeves of her white office shirt. She wore a short blue skirt, and had little other choice than to be "grateful" that she wore sheer black pantyhose on her legs. She did not, however have the benefit of any sort of footwear on her stocking feet. So much for reinforced toes! The razor sharp wind left her feeling that she might very well die from hypothermia as she bounced up, down, and side to side in the back of jeep. This might be for the best, because her frantic mind left her to conjure all manner of horrors as to where she was being taken, and worse... what was to become of her when she arrived!

The brutality of the winter night showed mercy intermittently as she passed in and out of consciousness. Her body simply could not endure the strain upon it, as the wind lashed her again and again from all sides. Her muscles were spent, little circulation left to fight against the bonds that bit into her slender wrists and trim nylon clad ankles. As the smoky lids of her emerald eyes drooped down slowly, rising a little less each time, she tried to keep it together, but the ongoing effects of that wine smeared her senses with unfair blurriness.

Don't fall asleep now! Make sure that call made it out! He's your only chance! Where's your purse!? Don't forget that other valuable tool you found in there! Ah, you're hopeless! Do you even WANT to get yourself out of this spiraling mess!?!? The young woman's thoughts bounced around in her cotton lined skull as her body tossed about in the rear of the rolling jeep. It was futile. The toxin laced wine, the cold, these bonds... the tears formed in the corners of her eyes, rolling down her cheeks, where they froze in the sticky mess of her streaking makeup.

Blonde hair dropped over her drooping eyes, and suddenly she was left with the darkness, the cold, and the jostle of the jeep. Gradually, she did not seem to notice all of the misery quite so much any more...

To be continued...
